York University is connected to high speed research and educational networks
- Data network, including wired and wireless (WiFi); Internet access; connectivity to high speed research and education networks (eg. CANARIE, GTAnet, ORION); connectivity between York campuses and remote sites
- Physical building and cross-campus cabling and fibre optic circuits that are used by the network and other systems for connectivity
- Video services including conferencing and television
- Central data centres and in-building facilities containing communication equipment

Established in 2002, GTAnet is a member owned, regional network that provides high-speed network connectivity for the research, education, health and public sector community in the greater Toronto area. GTAnet provides its member institutions with direct high-speed network connectivity between each other, the Internet and the global Research and Education (R&E) community. |
